Are the Best Years Behind You?

If your like me, you occasionally wonder if your best years are behind you.  Perhaps you have not done enough with your life at this point.  When we occasionally look at movie stars, sports sensations, and young prodigies we look back at ourselves and think maybe we have wasted our lives.  I don’t think this question will ever leave us.  Look at these four guys who didn't let their age hold them back.

You may remember actor Jason Statham in such cool roles as The Bank Job and Transporter 1, 2 and 3.  He has carved himself out as one of the toughest action heroes.  So much so that he was included in the action star hall of famer's movie The Expendables.  Statham started out on the British National Diving team and did quite well.  When his days on the diving team were over he returned home and continued his career as a “Black Market” sales man and did a modeling gig with the famous French Connection.  But everything changed when director Guy Ritchie spotted him. Because of Statham’s Black Market background, he was hired for a movie called Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrells.  What I love about this guy is that he started his movie biz at the age of 31.  Today we see so many young actors getting started that it seems a wonder when someone else gets in on the action.  His career was just getting started.  He went on and did a bunch more movies:  Snatch, Ghost of Mars, The One, Mean Machine, Death Race, The Mechanic, Blitz, Killer Elite and few more hitting the theaters soon.  He has studied Wing Chun Kung Fu, Karate, and Kickboxing.  And to top it all off  he has been dating 25 year old Victoria Secret Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley since 2010.  By the way, Jason Statham is 44 years old.

Winston Churchill is primarily known for his leadership during WWII against Hitler.  As a young British soldier, he saw action in British India, Sudan and the  2nd Boer War.  At a young age, he had a taste for action and sought out as much as possible.  He gained fame through writing about his war exploits.  Although he obtained many other honors in life, there is none more memorable than being Prime Minister of Britain from 1940-45 during Hitler's rise and world domination kick.  He is famous for leading an Island nation in resisting the fuhrer.  He did not surrender, compromise or give up during this time.  Admittedly, this cat was in an occupation that favors some age.  But he made it happen as a Prime Minister at the ripe old age of 66.  Following Britain's victory in WWII, he was temporarily ousted as Prime Minister.  However in 1951, he returned as Prime Minister.  He was well into his seventies.  He did not shut up or slow down either.  He was made an honorary citizen of the United States, awarded Nobel prize for literature, given a state funeral by Queen Elizabeth and in 2002 named one of the most influential persons in British history.  If you have not hit sixty-six years old you still have time!

David Beckham has played soccer for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, England National Team and most recently the Los Angeles Galaxy. Beckham holds various records he achieved throughout his career.  However, what is truly different about this guy is that he is currently 37 years old and shows no sign of slowing down.  Thirty-seven may seem young to most, but in a career that favors youth it is quite an accomplishment to still be pushing forward.  In fact, he continues to up his game by working with his Major League Soccer trainer to gain even more speed making him more competitive in the soccer realm.

Steve Jobs grew a huge company with completely fresh ideas.  His Apple products are still leading the tech world even after his death.  In the early days of Apple, after growing the company to great heights, Jobs faced an internal power struggle with the board and watched as the company was yanked from his hands at the age of 30.  As he put it, “How can you get fired from a company you created?”  Armed with a financial stock pile and the desire to continue to create, he started Pixar.  Years later, when Apple was facing bankruptcy, they brought Jobs back.  Together they have gone on to accomplish mind blowing technology.  Jobs was 42 when he finally got his company back.

These four men are proof that life is not over simply because you have not accomplished amazing things at a young age.  You still have time.   Make your mark!

The larger concern again is not the sheer availability of Breitling, but rather the unknowing consumer accidentally buying one Fake Breitling watches,eBay in the past was littered with Fake Breitling watches, but that is no longer the case. There are probably Replica Valentino Handbagsmasquerading as the real thing in eBay's auction listings from time to time, but they are less common than they used to be. Above I mentioned that in virtually all instances you won't find Valentino handbags sold via legitimate bags retailers.
